Job Description

The role:

  • Extra Curricular Cello Teacher (Tutor).
  • Casual.
  • $92.70/hr.
  • Term 2 start (from 20 April).
  • Teaches extra-curricular (private tuition) Cello at a beginner to advanced level.
  • Establishes and maintains safe and supportive learning environments for students.
  • Liaises with other members of the Music department as needed.

The ideal candidate:

  • Highly proficient Cello-playing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching Cello to young learners (from 5yo) to advanced level (i.e. AMEB Grade 8 and AMusA).
  • Working knowledge of the AMEB syllabus (including preparing students for AMEB exams across a range of levels).
  • Experience in a school setting highly regarded (but not essential).
  • Able to motivate young muscians to help them grow in confidence by creating and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Basic computer skills (for record keeping and recording absences).
  • Friendly, energetic, and a good verbal communicator.
  • Keen to be part of our school community.
  • Willing and able to hold a valid Working With Children Check in NSW.
  • Available before, during, and after school hours during school term.
